Hotel des Arts has announced its launch of New Art 08, an effort to find new artists to repopulate their hotel rooms with fresh work. We’ve written about the project before, but now they are seeking out artists who haven’t had the international recognition or gallery showcases that they may deserve. This time around Hotel des Arts is filling every space with some form of art and is open to a wide range of art media including digital, instead of just paintings. The invitation explains:
We intend to showcase several dozen emerging artists from the Bay Area, and feature several hundred works of art – filling all five floors of the ART HOTEL with NEW ART. Ideally, we are looking for artists who have NOT yet shown their work extensively.
