More and more credit cards, ID badges, EZ pay tags – and even passports are being created with embedded RFID tags in them. The tags contain basic, but important information like credit card numbers, social security numbers, name, birth date etc. ID cards also have the magic ability to open doors and allow entry into secure locations. All this data is an identity thief’s dream. There is a whole world of potential trouble to be had if all this juicy card information was to leak into the wrong hands. It’s been proven by hackers that grabbing info off an RFID chip is very easy. All you need is an $8 scanner and close proximity to a chip, and you’re in business.
Coming to the rescue, is the sleek and compact Ogon wallet. The metal casing on the Ogaon will block RFID chips from functioning, creating a little fortress for your cards. Made of brushed aluminum, this guy is like a Zero Halliburton breifcase that fits in your pocket. Besides being a first line of defense against ID theft, the Ogon’s fan shaped PVC sleeves will do normal wallet stuff to, like holding up to 15 cards and folded cash.

Brilliant! A friend had his card info swiped via scanner not so long ago; RFID is a great technology, but can have very valid security risks. I can’t wait to see more of these types of products in stores.
