We are excited to have John Pollard, Lead of Experiential Marketing Strategy at Microsoft, at PSFK Conference San Francisco. Speaking with George Murphy of Modo Group, Pollard will be on our “When Words Are Not Enough” panel to discuss using experience design to enhance communication.

Who are you and what do you do?

I created and currently lead an a experiential marketing team inside of Microsoft whose charter is to reach consumers and end-users of our products and services by deploying Microsoft enabled experience environments which are deployed in hospitality, travel, sports, entertainment, and retail venues – our efforts rely on unique integrated partnerships with some of the most respected consumer brands in the world.

Can you provide some insight on how environment and technology help consumers make meaningful connections with brands?

Branded experience environments can immerse people in uniquely personalized, authentic and elegant value exchanges while showcasing how products and services – in our case technology – can enhance and improve their lives in the world of the digital lifestyle. The practice and discipline of experiential marketing enhances our ability to communicate value propositions, elicits more desire for our products and promotes greater brand loyalty and affinity for not only our portfolio of sub-brands and services but also the master brand Microsoft.
