You can't just give away food, a hungry child with empty estomach could get really bad diarrea eating chocolate chip muffin for example. It is sad but I think my country understands hunger and misery better, don't give food away in such an irresponsible way. Leaving food out of the garbage is like throwing crumbles to pigeons. They are people, make soup and give to them looking in their eye, this is a real human behavior.
