The police chief of Flint, Michigan decided he’d had enough of the fashion style known as “sagging”. If you haven’t guessed by now, it’s when you wear your pants really, really low below your waistline. Or even lower, at your knees maybe. Not really a functional look; it’s got to be difficult to walk like that -but it is popular.
Police officers can now arrest anyone in Flint that wears sagging pants, slapping them with up to a $500 fine and a year in jail! They have also declared that the style gives probable cause for an officer to search you.
Thankfully the American Civil Liberties Union is stepping in to oppose this laughable law, that they say is racist and illegal.

If they want to outlaw sagging then I think they should outlaw people who wear popped collars. Just as criminal in my book.

where exactly is the sagging line, and does the amount of the fine depend on how low the pants go? The only promising outcome I can imagine is that it could set a precedent for sagging management one day too.

It’s a great idea. Saggy pants are bad for the planet!

I can see where the officials are coming from when they are saying they want this stopped. It looks to me like a form of rebellion, but then again you have to wonder,”Why would you want your pants this low in the first place?” There’s not really a point in wearing them if they’re going to be at your knees anyways.. Sure, you want to express yourself, doesn’t everyone? But, this is a way of saying, I don’t care what the world thinks about me, I’m going to do what I want and they can get over it. There is a line to be crossed here people, and some have definitely crossed it. Class is one word I would love to point out. It’s not attractive, and why would you want everyone to look at you in disgust anyways? So you want to be all “big and bad?” Is that it? Because this ‘definitely helps there’.
But on the other hand, this could, in fact, be an inspiration. If you haven’t noticed, there has recently been a fashion first with the new drop-crotch pants. Women have definitely begun to wear these. This is one of those things where you look at something some consider repulsive, and wonder, “Was the rebellion in this wardrobe the inspiration for another?”

“What you in for?” “Sagging” “Oh you’ll like it here”
I feel sorry they tried this and it failed. If sagging is a criminal offense, then being a police officer is being a criminal offense.

This is out right outlandish and obsured!!! Here is just another example of how WHITE america continues to rule with an iron fist. If law makers are continued given the opportunity to enforce such laws, then the only solution is to fight back. And I mean that literally.
