Student Designs Showcased at Shanghai’s iD Gallery
At Shanghai’s newly opened iD Gallery, students with a passion for design now have an opportunity to showcase their creative talents. The iD Gallery, a special promotion zone for creative products and entrepreneurial innovation, is encouraging young designers to share their individual creations for products ranging from office supplies to tech gadgets. Successful applicants will not only see their products on display at the exhibition, but their creations could potentially be turned into actual products manufactured on a large scale. Wang Meixiang, assistant general manager describes the goal of the iD Gallery:
It is a special platform for display and sales. We would like to develop the creativity industry by showing how these products can elevate our lives… Creation is the engine of life and this gallery is a place where innovation ideas are encouraged.
This event is just one of the numerous innovation exhibitions the iD Gallery plans to hold at Shanghai’s nearly-completed Knowledge and Innovation Community (KIC). Inspired by the technological innovation and entrepreneurial spirit of Silicon Valley, KIC’s massive 1 million sq. meter mega-complex aims to become Shanghai’s entrepreneurial hub for high-tech enterprises, R&D institutes and creative design practices.
