The Aurora Open Source DJ Mixer

The Aurora Open Source DJ Mixer

By Dan Gould on July 9, 2008

The Aurora mixer is a snappy looking piece of gear. It’s a usb powered, midi controller/two channel DJ mixer. Any midi compatible software (like Abelton) can be controlled by it. The Aurora has standard mixer features including a crossfader and controls for lows, mids and highs. The lines are clean and the design is sleek and uncluttered.  What sets this thing apart is the multicolored led lights illuminating the underside of the mixer, and the extra knobs to control built in effects. Throw it together with a pair of ATTIGO TT touch screen turntables, and it’s party time. The whole thing is open source, all the plans you need to DIY are on the Aurora website. Though, they will build you one if your skills are lacking.
