The aptly named Zero Pollution Motors will be releasing compressed air powered cars in United States by 2010. $2 of air is all it takes to fill the tank, and the car gets 106 gas equivelant mpg. Top speed when running on air is 35mph, but a small fuel boost (gasoline, propane, ethanol or bio fuels) ramps it up to 90mph. Designed by France’s MDI, the vehicle is 100% emmision free when running on air-only mode. Amazingly, these compact cars seat 6 people and still have room for luggage. Priced at an extremely reasonable $17,800, these cars could make clean, cheap personal transportation a reality for many people.

fantastic news… compressed air seems to be the white elephant car manufacturers have been ignoring.
