Bands In Town: Concert Search Engine

By Dan Gould on August 12, 2008

Bandsintown is a handy service that uses a tag cloud interface to show musicians and bands performing in your town. A control panel on the left of the screen lets you filter and change parameters like ticket price, date range, and distance from your city.

Rolling over an artist’s name will display a pop up widget listing upcoming shows, and a music player that previews the artist’s tracks. Going deeper, each event listing will show you any needed details, like links to tickets for sale and venue information.

What’s most impressive here, is the way the site organizes a lot of information into an easy to navigate form. In cities where there are hundreds of events going on daily, an aggragation and sorting system like this could be very useful.
