Better Than the Van – For Rock Bands Who Need Couches

NYTimes’ Freakonomics blog points us to a new website aimed at helping traveling musicians find free places to crash while touring. Similar in concept to couchsurfing.com, Better Than the Van lists room/couch lenders and seekers, whom members can browse through and contact when they find an appropriate match. Members of the site can create profiles, post pictures, and leave feedback on the guestbook (the site’s informal vouching system).
