Bulletproof Clothing In South Africa

Bulletproof Clothing In South Africa

By Dan Gould on August 19, 2008

Fashion designer Miguel Caballero makes clothes that save lives. The Colombian designer creates bullet and stab proof garments that look just like regular shirts, coats, dresses or pants. Amazingly, these discreet suits of armor can withstand a shot from an AK-47 or 9mm pistol.

Since 1992, Caballero has been making protective gear in Bogota, Columbia, outfitting VIP’s worried about rampant kidnapping and murder. Recently he opened a boutique in South Africa, that will sell the pricey clothing to citizens looking for an extra layer of protection against violent crime.
