Folk Clothing: Craft + Cloth

By Orli Sharaby on August 19, 2008

Every once in a while a product designer crosses our path that strikes us as particularly and thoroughly modern. That is, combining an acute awareness of sustainability, a dedication to handicraft, and – not to be forgotten – an irresistible aesthetic. Folk is one of those brands.

From the Folk site, describing what drives their design:

The collections are not trend led but are defined by a handcrafted aesthetic that creates simple staple favourites with subtle, fun and quirky detailing that allows their owner to make a statement without having to shout too loudly about it.

With two new shirt styles just arriving from Japan, made with 100% organic double faced cotton which gives them a great hand feel — while still appearing rugged in the miners’ style they’re designed from — these shirts are a great find.
