Japanese Firm Offers Weddings in Space

by Sean Leow (PSFK Shanghai)

Couples willing to go the extra mile, or 62.1 miles to be exact, to exchange their vows in space now have the opportunity to do so courtesy of the Japanese firm First Advantage. First Advantage has teamed up with the US-based space provider RocketPlane Global to offer this unique experience for a cool $2.3 million.

The round-trip journey abroad RocketPlane’s XP suborbital vessel takes roughly one hour to complete, yet the couple only has several minutes of zero-gravity to exchange their vows with up to three guests present. The cost also covers accommodation, transportation, a 4 day compulsory training course, ceremonial gifts, as well as a live video feed of the wedding for friends back on Earth. First Advantage has begun accepting reservations beginning this week. For more info visit their website.
