Lightmark: Masters Of Painting With Light

By Dan Gould on August 26, 2008

The Lightmark photo series by Cenci Goepel and Jens Warnecke takes the process of light drawing to an elegant new level. Light drawing involves taking a long exposure photograph (2-30 seconds), and using an LED or other bright, focused light source to draw shapes in the air. The camera then captures the movement as lines

Combining quiet natural environments with alien flashes of light, the Lightmark series creates a haunting, mystical world. All the photos are simply named with the geographic coordinates and the name of the place it was taken. (the photo above is “No.55 | S 54°51’48.1“ W 67°29’41.1“ Provincia Tierra del Fuego, Argentinia, 2007″)
