Making Techno With An Orchestra

By Dan Gould on August 12, 2008

Techno pioneer Carl Craig is trading in electronic instruments for an upcoming performance. He’ll be utilizing a full size orchestra to transform his work from bleeps and synth sounds to a symphonic mix of strings, brass, woodwind and percussion. The Les Siècles Orchestra will perform Craig’s songs on October 18th at the Cité de la Musique in Paris. Pianist Francesco Tristano helped craig arranged the music for orchestral performance.
