Montreal, a Hub of Digital Culture

Yesterday’s post on New York’s upcoming Electronic music and innovation festival got us thinking about other similar events, and Montreal’s Mutek could not be ignored. Hoping to distinguish itself from the rave and club culture, the weeklong event highlights experimental electronic music and media art in venues throughout the city. In doing so, the festival has put Montreal on the map as a hub of digital culture. XLR8R has a great video exploring the event’s history with interviews from Mutek’s founder as well as various artists including Kid Koala.
