The School of Life is a new shop-cum-classroom located in Bloomsbury, London, that offers courses and materials to excel in life’s great subjects – “work, play, family, politics and love”. While the shop features a nice collection of books and artwork, its real selling point is its service offerings, which include classes, organized holidays to exotic (in the hipster sense of the word) locations, psychotherapy, intellectually stimulating meals, and (secular) sermons. The faculty at The School of Life consists of “some of the brightest thinkers and artists at work today”, including Alain de Botton, Geoff Dyer, Susan Elderkin, Tom Hodgkinson, and Martin Parr.

Courses are hosted in the underground classroom, created by artist Charlotte Mann, and will set you back a good £195. To catch one of their free events or meetings, check their website.
