High Speed Train to Run With Zero Greenhouse Gas Emissions

by Dan Gould

A high speed train line has been proposed that will transport passengers  between San Francisco and Los Angeles — in only 2 hours and 40 minutes. Even better news is that the trains can be powered by electricity generated from renewable sources, which means zero emissions.

The 220 mile per hour trains are expected to carry up to 100 million passengers per year, significantly reducing the use of fuel burning cars and planes. If all goes well, the project will be completed in 2030.
