The OBAG concept bag from Samsonite uses a different way of thinking about luggage. The suitcase design throws out the traditional box shape and instead takes the functionality of the rolling bag wheel and enlarges it into the shape of the entire piece. Two large exterior wheels help propel the circular bag through any type of terrain, and two compartments inside the center of the wheel contains your gear. Although the OBAG probably can’t hold as much as a normal suitcase, this radical redesign is an interesting exploration of new ideas.

This could combine well with the yo-yo ipod charger concept. Rolling the luggage could charge your laptop…

I’ll stick with a canvas duffel, thanks.. I’m not sure if I want to look like Karim Rashid rolling through an airport with this thing..

Um, I’d love to see what this would do to to the efficiency of airplane cargo holds. when things are square, they Tetris together nicely. When they’re designed to roll, not so much.
