Smart Recycled Design: Jumbo Jet Hostel

Smart Recycled Design: Jumbo Jet Hostel

By Dan Gould on September 4, 2008

I have to imagine getting rid of something as gigantic as a 747-200 jumbo jet is a big problem.

Fortunately the people at Jumbo Hostel, saw an opportunity where others might have just seen a big pile of scrap metal. The group is transforming an out of commission 747 into an 85 bed hostel. Located near the Stockholm-Arlanda Airport, the hostels 25 rooms all include wireless internet and flat screen televisions. And if you need a bit more room, a deluxe wedding suite is planned for the upper deck, where the cockpit used to be.
