PSFK just paid a visit to the Uniqlo flagship store in New York to check out their new customer service robot. We were excited at the possibilities -the little guy is supposed to hold simple conversations and help shoppers find items in the store

Well, retail workers of the world, you can breathe a collective sigh of relief – your jobs are not in danger (yet). Wakamaru, as it’s called seemed a little shy. At the moment, it can only respond to a handful of questions, none which involve helping you find a nice pair of pants. Though the robot will tell you it’s name, and that New York is it’s favorite city ever. But with all the sensors on it’s body, and fluid movements it looks like Wakamaru could have the potential to do a lot more. We’ll have to wait and see.
