The Eye-Fi just keeps getting better: the wifi and GPS enabled memory card now lets users upload photos automatically to their Flickr and Twitter accounts, too. Users with Eye-Fis can download the most recent version of the manager software to enable auto-uploads onto any of the 20 supported image hosting sites, including Flickr, Picasa and Facebook. And now Twitterers can automatically notify their followers when they’ve uploaded pics, each tweet published immediately as a photo goes up with a corresponding link to the new upload. Kudos to Eye-Fi for continuing to helps its users find new ways to let their pictures live outside of their cameras.

Eye-Fi does not have GPS, it has location support provided by Skyhook Wireless. Skyhook enables geotagging based on nearby wireless networks. I’m anxiously awaiting a true GPS enabled memory card… you had me excited.
