Mobile Phone Advice Service in Japan

By Jeff Weiner on October 7, 2008

Our friends at CScout Japan point us to a cool new service being offered in Japan: My Counselor, a new mobile site, lets users send anonymous text messages to qualified counselors of their choosing. Users can also browse through topics based on what emotional issue is on their mind. For example, if a user has a relationship question, he/she can view sample questions and advice from several certified counselors. Based on their responses, the user can make an informed decision on how to approach his/her personal problem.

There are a number of pricing schemes, including a premium package that provides opportunities to meet – in real life – with counselors. As CScout rightly points out, this type of application provides much needed access to help (the value of which remains to be determined) for those in need of guidance and support, or just someone to listen.
