Since 2003 the Brooklyn based duo of Myriah Scruggs and Nadia Yaron have been crafting one-of-a-kind modern rustic furniture from pieces rescued from the trash. Their company, Nightwood Furniture offers a down to earth yet airy aesthetic and sensibility. The final pieces have clean lines but offer a lot of character with the addition random bits of wood and salvaged fabric.
Myriah does most of the furniture and wood gathering. She deconstructs each item and reassembles it artfully mixing other wood finishes and colors. Fabrics are Nadia’s area of expertise. She recovers abandon chairs with a collection of vintage, organic, and sustainable fabrics. She also produces a range of soft goods including hand-stitched and printed pillows, bed linens, and rugs.
Nightwood have recently had work available for sale at the BrooklynFlea.

Holy cow! I’m about to buy that table on the left!
They have a stall at the Forte Green flea market, the stuff is lush and not a silly price either.
Glad to see they are getting coverage here.
