Third Eye Monocle Knows All

Another interesting concept design from Yanko – The Third Eye. Many ancient cultures believed that the third eye chakra was a portal to higher knowledge, kind of a psychic version of the physical eyes. Designers Kijin Shin & Youngbin Lim have translated this idea into a modern day iteration. Their augmented reality device takes in visual input (like a specific building), and gathers relevant historical, travel, shopping, and tourist information about it. Although this kind of function will probably be relegated to a future all-in-one communication device, the Third Eye’s simplicity and ease of use is notable.
