East Coast troops have been using some alternative training systems to prepare for the mental aftermath of war. The veteran-run Warrior Mind Training program has been introducing its services to army and naval bases across North Carolina. Using Samurai meditation techniques, the program attempts to reduce ‘mental chatter’ and bring clarity and focus to stress-filled war environments. Warrior Mind Training also assists troops during battle, and on their return to help deal with Post-Traumatic Stress, Traumatic Brain Injury, and Combat Stress.
The program:
cultivates the warriors body, mind and spirit in all aspects of life by
* Train for combat duty
* Successfully transition home
* Prepare for multiple tours of duty
* Continue service in civilian sectors
* Fulfill the promise of retirement yearsYou will learn powerful mind focusing techniques that will gradually allow you to stop your mental chatter at will. When that happens, a power and clarity will infuse your attention, which you can then direct towards attaining almost anything.
So whether you are strapping on body armor and heading outside the wire, whether you are transitioning from the war zone back to your old life, or whether you are somewhere in-between, just remember: What you focus on, you will become.
