In a set-back for the movement against chemical ridden foods, the British Advertising Standards Authority have banned Innocent drinks from advertising its This Water drink as natural because the three-ingredient beverage contains sugar. The Independent in London says:

Drinks maker Innocent’s squeaky-clean image has taken a hit after the advertising regulator banned an ad campaign for its “natural” This Water range after it failed to inform consumers there was up to 42g of sugar in each bottle.

The poster campaign, for Innocent Drinks brand This Water, features images of bottles of the drink with the strapline: “Simple, natural, refreshment”.

Sure, sugar ain’t great, but it’s better than the alternatives. Meanwhile the AAA continues to allow CocaCola and Pepsi to advertise to children.
