A Map That Lights Up

A Map That Lights Up

By Christine Huang on November 6, 2008

We love this concept from Owen Song: a map overlayed on specially battery-operated LED ‘paper’ that, when rolled up, becomes a source of light. According to the designer, the LEDs could be powered by the 12V paper-thin battery, which would be activated once the two electrodes (exposed on the back cover of the map) are aligned. We’re not too sure about its feasibility (and safety? what if it starts raining?), but hey – we like the idea.
