NYC based graphic designers Karlssonwilker are ending 2008 with a rather nice project. They’ve designed the cover and feature story of the 2008 List issue of Time Magazine. Look closely and you’ll notice the designers included lots of small graphics and text. Eagle-eyes over at Creative Review noticed the designers even managed to sneak a portrait of themselves onto the iconic cover.
Karlssonwilker have made a habit of providing views with visual secrets to find. Hunt around their website and you’ll discover some random things. The designers also included some eyebrow raising graphics in a recent feature for Creative Review.

What a spectacular coup for KarlssonWilker. You would think that only a designer like Shepard Fairey would have been allowed to go to town on the corporate style guide.
i.e a) someone who’s done stuff for Time previously b) the demand and credibility from the guy behind the iconic image for the year
It was definitely radical on the part of KarlssonWilker with self promotion and art over Time’s iconic Red border. Shepard would have been more low key and subversive given the chance anyway.
