We like the work of Berlin-based Brad Downey, an artist that reexamines urban architecture and its unique, powerful set of symbols. In his exhibition “An Honest Thief“, Downey explores the ways we’re influenced, consciously or not, by our surroundings and the system of order and obedience we submit ourselves to in the public sphere. He hacks recognizable road signs and beautifies construction zones, sometimes dressed as a city worker in order to construct and showcase his pieces – some considered disruptive (and therefore illegal) - in broad daylight.
