Pat Connor, Vision Executive of BBC, will be speaking on our Good Ideas Through Collaboration panel at the PSFK Good Ideas Salon London. Along with Sophie Howarth of The School of Life, Jeremy Ettinghausen of Penguin, and moderator Colin Nagy of PSFK / Attention, the panel will discuss how collaborative creation results in better businesses and ideas.
First, who are you and what do you do?
Pat has three men at home—Paul and their two sons, Ash and Evan. She can’t quite shake off the need to do homework and has recently done a Masters Degree in Film and an RHS foundation in Horticulture and Landscape Design. When not digging up her garden or watching films, Pat directs development across BBC Vision Productions. Her team work with all genres and platforms from comedy to science, entertainment to drama, identifying, developing and ‘bigging up’ the best new ideas in development. “We help bring new thinking into the BBC, we foster collaboration and we put rockets under the most exciting projects for our audiences.” This means living and breathing a collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach and persuading the best brains from across the BBC and beyond to come and play with us.
You’ll be sharing your ideas on our Good Ideas Through Collaboration panel. In one paragraph, can you explain what themes and ideas you hope to touch upon during the discussion?
Collaborating in BIG places—across genres, across platforms and across countries
