Shapeways Opens a 3D Printing Marketplace

By Dan Gould on January 8, 2009

Shapeways, one of the first consumer level web based 3D printing services has just opened the first online marketplace for 3D designed products. Like an Etsy for 3D innovation, the Shapeways shops carry all kinds of unique crafty designs. Current products include complex sculptures like the Vorodo seen above and more simple fare, like custom hats and accesories for mini figurines. All in all it looks like a great service for creators who want to focus on creating, and let Shapeways handle everything else.
