Reports say that 13,000 people turned up at London’s Liverpool Street Station at 7pm on Friday February 6th and forced the staff there to close the major terminal for 90 minutes. Mobilized by a page on Facebook, the mob performed a silent disco listening to their iPods and music players. Watch the videos – it’s rather mental
We’ve seen FlashMobs before but never in this size. Comments from travelers on the Flesh Is Grass blog show that some folks didn’t think it was all fun and games. Some travelers were upset by the flashmobbers actions – people couldn’t get home from work to family and friends.
This event follows a recent ad by T-Mobile showing a faux FlashMob perfoming a dance at Liverpool Street station. We’re sure a few comments will be made in the media about the connection.
