At PSFK we’re always looking for new ways and places to find good ideas. As part of this mission, we’re expanding our reportage and looking outside the big cities to find inspiring stories and ideas – with our focus first on Middle America.
We want to highlight the creativity coming out of the growing cities and towns between our two coasts – from Minneapolis to Dallas to St Louis. One of the first things that caught our eye was alternative marketing agency Dept Zero. The agency headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, just completed its second of two Scion Open snowboarding competitions in the middle of Kansas City’s Power & Light District. A crowd of 5,000 spectators and over 120 competitors gathered in the entertainment and shopping district for the pop-up sports event, making the Open the biggest event of its kind in the midwest. Good find. The agency is a very creative one. They seem to have also orchestrated a thumb wrestling promo for Toyota.
