Buckingham Palace: Not So Green

Buckingham Palace: Not So Green

By Ruby Pseudo on March 18, 2009

Thermal imaging technology has revealed that Buckingham Palace is one of the least ‘Green’ and ‘environmentally friendly’ buildings in the UK. The test, taken by energy team Naviton, clearly displayed extreme heat loss through the windows, roof and cracks in the walls. Surveyors gave the Palace a score bottom score of 0 out of 10 for its environmental tact. Simple window restoration would greatly improve their partaking in saving the environment, and with window repair at such a low coast, the royalty’s bank balance should remain barely unscathed. Interestingly, several governmental buildings are also among the country’s worst offenders too, of which include the Treasury, Home office and Ministry of defence.
