Marc Newson: Design to Make Flying Better

By Dan Gould on March 16, 2009

Australian designer Marc Newson has created a brilliant new interior for Quantas Airline’s new A380 planes. They of course look great, but Newson has added some subtle touches that should make the flying experience much better. The image above shows a self service refreshments case that  will cut down on having to wave down the flight attendants. He’s also added more leg room by making the seat backs out of a new kind of thin, medium density foam. Also notable is the opulent first class seating area, which essentially gives passengers their own little room.
