Our own Dave Pinter (PSFK, GRID2) will be moderating a panel at our upcoming PSFK Conference NYC 2009. Dave will be leading a discussion with Ryan Jacoby (IDEO), Simon Collins (Parsons), and Sarah Beatty (Green Depot) about how sustainable, economic and socially conscious issues are driving the design of new products and services.
First, who are you and what do you do?
I’m a contributing editor for PSFK. Design, automotive, retail, and architecture are generally topics I write about. I also am a designer for GRID2, a New York based brand identity and retail design firm.
You’ll be sharing your ideas on our panel about “ReConnection”. In one paragraph, can you explain what themes and ideas you hope to touch upon during the discussion?
We’re beginning to see companies and retailers experiment and test new business models that integrate sustainability and responsibility. I think each person on the panel can offer a different facet of insight into how goods and services may be made, marketed, and sold in the future. Hopefully the discussion will reveal some interesting ideas about what lies ahead in product development, fashion, and retail.
