Matt W. Moore, founder of MWM Graphics and one of PSFK’s favorite artists, will be discussing his iconic work in a Show and Tell at PSFK Conference New York on April 2. A multi-disciplinary and ever-evolving artist, Matt will offer insight into his design discipline and what inspires him.
First, who are you and what do you do?
My name is Matt W. Moore and I run a studio called MWM Graphics in Portland, Maine. I work across the spectrum of art and design disciplines. Everything from vector illustration to logos, textile designs, canvas paintings, murals, tee graphics, and traditional graphic design. I strive to keep the art alive!
You’ll be showing off your work in our Show and Tell segment. In one paragraph, can you explain what themes and ideas you hope to touch upon during the discussion?
I’ll be presenting the evolution of my work and play over the past ten years. Starting with my graffiti and murals, then canvas paintings, digital art and design, and most recently my efforts to create work that is informed by my digital work, but created by hand without the computer. I’ll touch on my mantra “Range is conducive to growth”, and explain what this means to me. I will also explain how important it has been for me to constantly create personal work, even when client work keeps me plenty busy.
