Diesel Announces Home Collection at Milan Furniture Fair

By Dave Pinter on April 21, 2009

Having one of the best design fairs located right in its home town seems to have inspired Diesel to expand their Successful Living campaign into the home. The fashion label announced a collaboration with Italian design staples Foscarini, Moroso, and Zucchi to produce a range of furniture pieces and lighting fixtures. Diesel put an interesting spin on developing the collection in contrast to how a furniture maker would. They clearly used a similar approach to applying inspiration to a new apparel line in how the home collection was assembled. They’ve released a short video that shows it was a lot of science.

We’ve picked out a few favorite pieces from Wallpaper’s slide show gallery. The pared down cage lights produced in a number of variations from pseudo hand held work light to tall floor lamp have a nice blend of factory function with an elegant silhouette.

The Xradyo table is simple in shape but incorporates a translucent x-ray image of a dj’s turntables and mixer on the top. Clever and nice to see some visual embellishment that isn’t a tired baroque pattern or some retro shapes from the 60′s.
