Probably one of the biggest criticisms that the iPhone gets is that it’s not considered to be the best phone for business. That judgement is based on the comparison on the keyboard and email functionality with the Blackberry. This new iPhone ‘Office’ ad suggests that the App Store might just change our view of the device: while for many of us we find our work days spent sending and receiving missives, Apple reminds us that there’s much more to running a business and the phone “might just have an app” for all those other tasks we should be doing instead.
It’s interesting to see how the software on our electronic devices is changing the way we use them, no?

I love that Apple is challenging the ‘not for business’ misconception, and think they could go even further in pointing out that business and creativity can mix naturally.
However, when I first saw the ad, all I could think was that I would never want to let someone enter my credit card info into their phone. In a time when privacy protection and data security are major issues, I would really have to trust my store clerk to let him use his iphone as a card reader.

I would opt for the iPhone for business … if only Apple were smart enough to work with a carrier that had better coverage. T-Mobile coverage is dreadful

Do they have an app for their dreadful .me email service – the one I pay for?

There are plenty of pretty good applications for iPhone.
In our company we are using BridgeTrak Mobile a mobile version of the helpdesk ticket tracking system Bridgetrak.
This application allows for mobile access to our helpdesk database from anywhere improving our help desk productivity levels.
