Plaza Hotel in NYC to Become a Temporary Tesla Showroom

By Dave Pinter on April 28, 2009

Treehugger reports that electric car maker Tesla Motors will have one of their new Model S cars on display April 30th and May 1st at the Plaza Hotel in NYC. A company representative will also be on hand both days to answer questions about the car and take reservations.

Tesla founder and CEO, Elon Musk will also appear on David Letterman Wednesday night and he will be bringing the car to the studio.

The NY promotional blitz is part of Tesla’s effort to introduce the new model and to consumers. Tesla has used media creatively in the past to build brand exposure. The Model S was revealed online versus at an auto show and anyone could watch it live. The company hopes to establish new regional sales offices and showrooms in New York, Chicago, Seattle, Miami and Washington soon.
