Eco Car Show Today in NYC

Eco Car Show Today in NYC

By Dave Pinter on May 19, 2009

If you are in New York City today and want to check out a selection of hybrid and fuel efficient vehicles, head over to Union Square for an eco car show. Organized by the US EPA, the show  is promoting their SmartWay certification of environmentally friendly and fuel efficient vehicles. It is a similar idea to EnergyStar for products. The SmartWay will be a go to resource for consumers looking to find the latest and best fuel efficient and clean vehicles. The brand will also be rolled out to rental car agencies making choosing a green vehicle when renting easier. Enterprise has already adopted the program.

One of the featured cars is a VW TDI racing Jetta. The racing Jetta uses a clean burning diesel engine and competes in a special class organized by the Sports Car Club of America.

The show will be at the northwest corner of Union Square at Broadway and 17th street till this evening.
