Amid much fanfare, Art We Love launched its free-access site during New York’s massive Armory Arts Week. After a year of members-only access, now anyone can use the site to explore and discover the global contemporary arts scene. The site acts like your own personal art consultant, featuring worldwide venue and show listings, expert commentary on up-and-coming artists and recommended shows, and inexhaustible information on new artists and trends. Most importantly, Art We Love invites visitors to “explore art on your own terms.” Users may search by artist, emerging markets, techniques, movements and styles. They may then archive or share their favorites, connecting with like-minded art enthusiasts in the process.

We were impressed with the private viewing Art We love hosted at Phillips de Pury’s “Under the Influence” Show, known for the promotion of young artists and “cutting-edge” contemporary art. The tour was hosted by Timothy Malyk, Phillips’ Contemporary Art specialist, and source of immense knowledge. We’ve been logging on consistently ever since and remain grateful every time.

Their newsletter helps navigate the string of museum exhibitions, events, shows and auctions as art season kicks into high gear this spring. It reminded us that the Affordable Art Fair is in town this week. Opening tomorrow, the AAF is always a favorite NYC art event. This year’s features paintings, drawings, sculpture and photography from more than 60 galleries from around the world, all priced from $100 to $10,000.

ArtWeLove will once again be partnering with Volta, Scope, Bridge and Red Dot art fairs this June at Basel and the Venice Biennale. Not to be missed for those in Europe this June!
