For her series Pyrotechnics New York artist Rosemarie Fiore created her ‘firework drawings’ by exploding and containing live fireworks. Fiore creates her unique, vibrant artworks by lighting and throwing fireworks onto a smooth cement floor, discharging colour over large-size paper canvases. To retain some control over the paint distribution Fiore uses cardboard cylinders and tin cans to contain the fireworks, and sometimes ties the fireworks to a large stick.
