Street Meat Gets Even More Mobile on Twitter

Street Meat Gets Even More Mobile on Twitter

By Scott Lachut on May 21, 2009

As an alternative to the brown bag and the oft expense sit down lunch, few things are better or cheaper than a delicious styrofoam container of street meat, particularly these days, as increasing numbers of vendors are marrying mobility with haute cuisine. Without having to pay high rents and always being able to go where the crowd is, these lunch trucks are able to keep costs low while still delivering a superior level of taste and convenience. And more and more people are catching onto the trend.

In an effort to drive up sales and alert customers when they might be in their area, many of these mobile entrepreneurs are turning to Twitter to put a digital spin on the idea of location-based advertising – a really smart use of the technology. Serious Eats has put together a comprehensive list of vendors from around the country so now your next meal is only a tweet away.
