Burger King’s New Tech-Heavy Store Design

By Nicko Margolies on June 8, 2009

Burger King recently unveiled a new layout design in a store in Spring, Texas, hoping to expand the prototype across the state by the end of the year.  The new theme is heavy on pizazz and incorporates flame imagery across the restaurant.  Technical upgrades include touch-screen LCD menus, game kiosks for the kids, an energy efficient flexible batch broiler to cook extra-thick burgers and most importantly, free Wi-Fi.

The drive-thru now sports a waterfall and the roof hopes to bring customers in to the home of the Whopper with red lights mimicking flames.  If the design proves successful, maybe we’ll be seeing these improvements in the 11,800 Burger King stores worldwide.  Nation’s Restraunt News reports,

Russ Klein, president of global marketing strategy and innovation for Burger King, said, “This innovative global design conveys the brand’s energetic and fun personality through signature elements that deliver a unique and own-able experience.”
