Visitors to Lufthansa’s Brand Academy in Frankfurt will be treated to an almost overwhelming visual experience, as they observe and interact with 16,000 daily Lufthansa and Star Alliance flights across the world, in real time, via a projection 180° display. The exhibit, created by interactive design firm WHITEvoid, will let visitors use a physical interface panel to zoom anywhere between the global and local level, filtering flight data as desired, and listening in on in-flight radio chatter presented in six-channel, three-dimensional sound. Flight data is almost inordinately complex and difficult to take in, and at the very least WHITEvoid will grant visitors some sense of the massive scale of global travel.
Check below for a video of the visualization in motion.
