While on the surface, paper-folding may be seem like rather mundane act reserved for junior high distractions like airplanes that miss their mark and triangle footballs, there’s a level of beauty hidden within those creases. But if you’re like us, and have ever struggled with the intricacies of an origami crane or bunny rabbit, you’ll understand the artistic element isn’t always easy to extract, until now.

Brooklyn artist Bryan, breathes life into a humble sheet of loose leaf and gives it away to the masses at his whimsical site Paper Foldables, a growing compendium of 3D nee 2D designs. Despite the complexities involved in developing his mix of pop-culture icons and self-imagined creations – his blog describes the methodology behind each one – the process for users couldn’t be much simpler: Print, Cut, Fold, Tape. And the last we checked, our office desk had all the necessary materials for an afternoon of inspired diversion.
