Invent.ory Launch Party

This week was men’s fashion week in NYC, and there have been a bevy of fun and fashionable events taking place throughout the city. Last night on Lafayette Street, chic outlet store Invent.ory hosted their studio launch party with a makeshift photo studio set up to snap visitors and well-wishers. Invent.ory, whose blog can be viewed here,  labels itself an outlet, but to call it such would be a disservice to how well curated it’s collection is. Inside the shop you’ll find rare and hard to find pieces by Cheap Monday, Mary Meyer, Staerk, VPL and more. In addition to the photographer on hand to give shoppers the Sartorialist experience, the event also had complimentary drinks and the air of an art opening. Unlike many other boutiques of this nature, the staff at Invent.ory was extremely friendly and helpful  without being overly pushy, which is a nice perk for an already great shop.

If you happen to be in NYC today, be sure to swing by Invent.ory for their COMUNE launch party. For their recent collaboration with Invent.ory, COMUNE has a capsule collection which they created solely for the downtown outlet. According to the Invent.ory blog, the collection includes: “A complete Fall wardrobe for the creative individualist …a mixture of interchangeable pieces including Wax Coated Denim, Tailored Woven’s, Push Through Flannels, uniquely colored Vegan Leather Jackets and a well-fitted, timeless Denim Jacket. The pop-up space also includes COMUNE’s infamous, nomadic flickering neon sign that reads, ‘Something Better Change’.” While I don’t want to give too much away, it seems that there is a much heralded return of traditional men’s dressing to fashion in the air, and brands like COMUNE exemplify this new aesthetic.
