Sander Mulder’s Continue Time Clock

Sander Mulder’s Continue Time Clock

By Nicko Margolies on July 21, 2009

The Sander Mulder design group recently unveiled a clock called Continue Time that uses traditional time telling theory with a unique movement style.  At PSFK, we love a good clock design and in this case, the functional device is again transformed into a expansive piece of kinetic artwork.

The Continue Time clock combines the three traditional pointers indicating hours, minutes and seconds into one interconnected arm coming out of a central axis.  The full functional clock is simplistic, yet the shapes it creates are delightfully new for a time piece.  The creator discusses their inspiration on the product page:

While moving to a new house our clock was damaged severely in transport, to a point where it’s minutes- and seconds pointer fell of the central axis, and where just laying in the transparent bubble cover. Witnessing the random patterns that occurred with the hour pointer still rotating, the first concept for the Continue Time clock was born.
